Autumn and Houseplants

A reminder of things to do in Autumn.
A few changes to your houseplant care routine which include reducing the watering, pausing feeding, bunching, moving and repotting.
As we enter Autumn and the earth’s angle to the sun changes for us in our hemisphere, plants recognise this change, as trees foliage turns golden and red. It’s a beautiful time of year as plants prepare for dormancy and you’ll notice house spiders making their way back in to our homes.
The temperatures can vary greatly and drop considerably as the days become shorter and the strength of the sunlight becomes less.
The humidity decreases naturally, plus we heat our homes and offices again decreasing humidity further.
Some tropical plants can struggle if the air becomes too dry. There are things you can do to increase humidity which we will be covering under the heading of humidity.
