Product Overview
Rhipsalis Ramulosa - Red Coral Cacti
An epiphytic South American rainforest cacti with succulent flat trailing stems that turn an amazing red colour in bright, indirect light.
As with most tropical jungle plants I like to be kept in bright indirect light, this mimics the sunlight filtering through the tree canopy above. This will give my leaves that beautiful red colour without burning me. An east facing window allowing morning sun, and protection from midday sun, is ideal.
As a tropical cacti I am not as drought tolerant as desert cacti. I much prefer to be watered thoroughly, then allow the top 5cms of compost to dry between watering.
As an epiphytic plant, growing naturally in nooks and crannies on larger plants and trees, I am happy to be a little pot bound. Repot only when necessary using a good quality, free draining compost, and only a slightly larger pot.
Fertilise moderately through Spring and Summer with a diluted half strength liquid cacti feed.
In Winter, when growth is slow, reduce watering and do not fertilise.
