Solanum Pseudocapsicum – The Jerusalem Cherry.
A member of the nightshade family, a large and diverse group of plants which includes both poisonous species and common food crops, such as aubergine, potatoes, and tomatoes.
Native to Central America, where its vigorous growth can make it a nuisance, it was first introduced in to Europe by Portuguese sailors, where it became a status symbol with the upper classes.
The main appeal are the bountiful, albeit poisonous berries, which emerge after flowering and mature to vibrant orange.
They`re normally found in berry through Autumn and Winter, where they create an interest around Halloween and Christmas.
So as long as you can keep them away from inquisitive pets and children then they make excellent plants of interest for the home, and outdoors before the threat of frost.
Follow these tips for success.
Happy in bright light to partial shade.
In flower and fruit keep moist, they must not dry out.
Best kept in a cool, or unheated room.
Aftercare:
Can be enjoyed outdoors once the threat of frost has passed, and brought back in to a cool, unheated room to over winter.
In winter allow to dry slightly between watering.

All parts of the plant are considered toxic to pets and humans.
