Product Overview
A beautiful variety of evergreen flowering shrubs that make great looking Bonsai.
Azaleas grow best outdoors in semi-shade, their natural environment is below the woodland canopy.
Azaleas are fairly shallow rooted, so both extreme heat and cold frost can damage the plant as they are above ground in pots.
Water well, preferably with rain water. Do not dry out, especially while the buds are forming. Drying out will lead to bud loss.
Prune to desired shape after the bloom cycle. The buds tend to set in midsummer, so avoid pruning after this as it will affect the following Spring flowers.
Repot in early Spring, using acidic / ericaceous compost before the new growth period, if you want to increase the size of the tree.
Alternatively you can root prune up to 1/3rd of the roots and keep in the same size pot, topping up with some fresh acidic / ericaceous compost, to maintain a smaller tree.
Fertilise sparingly with a specific Azalea, Rhododendron and Camellia feed as per the products recommended dosage and frequency.
