Product Overview
Adiantum, Maidenhair Fern.
Delicate, pale green fronds on arching black stems gives this charming and graceful fern everything you would hope for. Often grown in terrariums, as they do like high humidity, but will adapt to steamy kitchens and bathrooms where humidity levels are generally higher than in the rest of the home.
Best kept in natural, indirect light.
Must avoid direct Sun as will scorch and shrivel the delicate fronds.
If placed elsewhere in the home try to raise the humidity by placing on a saucer of moist pebbles / gravel.
Keep the soil evenly moist at all times, never allow to dry out.
Keep away from direct heat sources, or strong draughts.
Average room temperature 18-24c
Minimum Temp: 16c.
Remove any damaged fronds.
If your plant has completely dried out at any point and looks almost dead, cut back to approx. 1cm and place in a warm, humid spot. There`s a great chance that it will regenerate.
Ferns don`t require much feed, if you choose to fertilise do so with a diluted half strength liquid feed once a month during growth, not at all in Winter.
Re-pot only when the roots entirely fill the pot. Propagate by division, split the plant and put each section into its own pot, using good free draining compost.
