Product Overview
Adenium Baobab.
A rarely seen Adenium Hybrid that looks like a miniature version of the majestic baobab trees of the African Savannah.
These unusual caudex type plants are not difficult to care for, they store water in the bulbous base of the plant, so treat them like a cactus or a succulent, and you won`t go too far wrong. The only thing they really dislike is too much water.
Waxy green leaves and sweet scented star shaped flowers are borne each season through Spring and Summer.
Best kept in bright light to full sun, in temperatures between 18-29c.
Water well during the hottest times of the year, but allow to fully dry between waterings.
Adenium Baobab will go dormant as the weather cools and will lose its leaves. Provide a cool, dry period over Winter, temperatures ideally around 15c, with a few hours of direct sunlight each day.
Prune in early Spring before any new growth appears. Remove any old, dead, damaged or crossing branches, and shape the plants as desired.
Increase watering and feed with a potassium based fertiliser as new growth appears.
Adenium prefer to be pot bound, repot only when necessary, approx. every 3 to 4 years, using a good quality, peat free cactus and succulent potting mix.
Warning: Listed as Toxic to pets and humans. Do not ingest any part of the plant.
