Product Overview
Zamioculcas Zamiifolia Zenzi, The Dwarf ZZ plant.
A modern and almost indestructible plant that is a must have if you tend to neglect your plants at home. Native to Tanzania and central Africa it is accustomed to long periods of very dry weather, with occasional torrential downpours. It`s ability to store water makes it able to survive weeks, sometimes months, without water. Survives quite happily in a shady corner and remains green and healthy, but as a slow grower it prefers some bright, indirect light to help it grow. If you need a plant for a difficult spot then this is it.
Summer care: As mentioned above ZZ plant will survive quite happily in low light, but to help it grow it much prefers bright, indirect light, just avoid direct sun.
As in nature the ZZ can be watered thoroughly then allowed to dry before watering again. The only thing it doesn`t like is overwatering, it can`t cope with wet feet. Once every 1-2 weeks is probably enough.
Average room temperatures between 18-26c
Fertilise occasionally with a half strength liquid feed. Once a month from March to October is more than adequate.
Basically it`s ok wherever you put it, just be wary of direct sun, and don`t overwater.
Keep the ZZ plant looking at its best by gently wiping with a soft cloth every now and then to remove dust.
Minimum Temp: Short spells of 7-10c if kept dry.
In Winter the Zamioculcas will rest. Growth stops so it requires less water and no fertiliser.
Water moderately but make sure you wait until the top of the soil becomes dry before you water again. Don`t be tempted to water again until this happens, even if it seems a long time since last watered. Once every 3-4 weeks is common.
