Product Overview
Pachira Aquatica.
According to Chinese Feng Shui the five lobed green leaves, which resemble hands, capture happiness and good fortune, and is a traditional housewarming gift to bring good luck. Usually grown with multiple, interwoven trunks, the Pachira forms an impressive tree for your home that needs relatively little care.
Summer care: As with many tropical plants the Pachira prefers bright, indirect light. It will tolerate some morning sun but avoid direct sun during the hottest parts of the day.
Once you have found a position where your Pachira seems happy then try not to move it as it can react by dropping some leaves. It can be turned occasionally to keep it balanced, as it will tend to grow towards the light.
In its native habitat Pachira are often found near wetlands and swamps. It does love moisture but shouldn`t be allowed to stand in water. Pachira are able to store water in the bulbous, thickened part of the stem, so they can tolerate dry periods. As a happy balance water your plant thoroughly, then allow the top of the compost to dry slightly before watering again.
Good drainage is essential.
Average year round temperatures between 16-24c.
In Winter your Pachira will rest. Growth stops so requires less water and no fertiliser.
Not for consumption.
